After Months of Waiting...

I know.

Friends and I did this coming back from Poland. The Hall monitor was not amused as it was midnight.

Abgefahren!

Trampwettrennen

I found this competition somehow online..I don't even remember how. I had partner, but he got "sick" so I found another one...a guy from Belgium, very nice.

Hitchhiking Competition! The news was there!
(Apprently a shit station, but I'll take whatever I can get, fame, here I come)

We had to exchange a snow globe for something on our way...we got a polish lighter with pigs on it, score.

T(d?)rice and I hitchhiked twice with a bus. I really didn't think you could do that, but we did. The first time with a bunch of old traveling Germans and the second with a company of old men that were going to look at stuff for on loading and offloading ships? Or whatever...some middle aged man thing.

They were so nice, this guy introduced us and said where we're from (apparently I'm from Manhattan) and said that we weren't dangerous and since we were now so international we could play more Irish music. I think he also said that my camera was now broken after I took this picture.

Some polish drivers. I think the second guy couldn't speak German or English and was getting a little frustrated.

This guy definitely couldn't speak German or English...but we amused ourselves.

It says easy traveling...and boy was it.

Kowobcheksjdfkajwef was our destination...29 km, we were very excited...

We left Berlin around 10:30am I think at got there around 4:15.
WE CAME IN 2ND PLACE OMG.
(We had to take a picture of us with the clock.)

Camera team was there. The second to last team had to pull up at least three times for the right shot.

You can guess what we did next.

This looks slightly familiar....

Winners and losers.

Eating wurst from plastic wrapping, you know how it goes.

Ostsee.

Another girl that lives in Berlin hitchhiked back with me, I think it was faster than the way there. This was in the back of a blacked out van in Poland. The hole I tried to look out of looks a little like Australia.

Back in Berlin with cuts to prove I did something.

It was really great. I think I thought that hitchhiking would be harder than it was...I think I thought I'd have to wait much longer, but really we didn't have to wait much at all. I want to hitchhike more! Benni said, dass ich es gar nicht machen darf. But whatever. Him and his ridiculous concern for my safety. I really think it would be ok. But...safety first and everything. Or I dunno. We'll see. I just can't imagine anything happening to me between here and Nürnberg. I mean...of all places.

Visiting the Boy

Nürnberg and München

I arrive in Nürnberg with three other girls visiting their boyfriends. I used Mitfahrgelegenheit.de, which turned out very well. People who are already driving from one city to another post on this website so you can ride with them for a relatively small fee. It was nice both ways, I only regret not giving one of the girls my phone number.

Bennichen had to work on Friday so I discovered the city a bit myself...

"Always watch TV"
...I think is the translation...hmm

I had a good time, obviously.

Berlin has an obsession with this Polar Bear Knut...I think he was the first Polar Bear to survive in Human care...or something, I don't even care. I just know I'm supposed to love him, so I do. But actually now I'm supposed to love the "new" Knut, Flocke, so I do. The sign says that, "Knut Was Yesterday," with a cutsie wotsie picture of Flocke

....Mmmm...Flocke...

As soon as Benni was done with work we rushed over to the Zoo as fast as possible to see her.

FLOCKE!!!

US NEAR FLOCKE!!!

(who doesn't love a little nose in the eye at the Zoo near Flocke?)

Reader: Gott, you guys are attractive.
Ruby: Duh.
(Dinner at a Biergarten)

Ice cream and off to bed to get up early and drive to München !

Benni's really tall.

After wandering around we bought some tickets to a Bayern München gegen Berlin soccer game....legally...from a guy on the street

It was very exciting.

I posed well for a picture with Benni's Bayern München scarf
just before running to the Bratwurst and Bier.

The hungry waiting was almost unBEARable.

That's actually a Bretzel...
there wasn't enough time to take a picture
between buying the Bratwurst and finishing the Bratwurst.

Reader: Whoa.
Ruby: I know, I know.

Hey, I just remembered that I don't have my flag...where's my flag??!!

The game didn't even matter to Bayern München
because they had already won first place,
it only mattered to Berlin's standing.
Berlin lost 4-1. Sad day.
After there was a big Ceremony
for Bayern München...they got like a metal thing.
There were some pretty balloons.

The next day we both worked a little, built a cabinet and had a little fair action.
I think I've been to five fairs in the last month.

Good times. Good eats.
